What is BP4C?
Body Psychotherapy for Couples
Developed by Gabriel Shiraz
BP4C – Body Psychotherapy for Couples is a deep, somatic-energetic approach to working with relationships. It integrates the world of couples therapy with the principles and tools of body psychotherapy, offering a unique method for exploring and transforming relationships through verbal, emotional, energetic, and body-based dimensions.
For over 25 years, I have specialized in couples therapy through the lens of Body Psychotherapy—supporting individuals and couples in both in-person and online settings.
I deeply believe in our capacity to live in connection, intimacy, and harmony with our partners and families—even in the midst of life’s complexities. Marriage and family life offer some of the greatest opportunities for personal development, but they require more than love or attraction. They call for:
- Authentic communication
- Emotional regulation
- Vulnerability and openness
- Ongoing commitment to the relationship
The BP4C Framework
This holistic approach works with the full range of human experience:
- Thought patterns and behavioral dynamics
- Body image, posture, and body structure
- Breathing and movement patterns
- Emotional expression and regulation
- Sexuality and intimacy
- Belief systems and personal or spiritual growth
What Makes BP4C Unique?
Unlike traditional talk therapy, BP4C incorporates body-oriented tools, including:
- Breathwork and mindfulness practices
- Somatic awareness and movement
- Embodied roleplay and relational dynamics
- Energetic attunement
- Non-verbal communication and resonance
This multidimensional approach helps couples move beyond conversation and access deeper layers of connection, healing, and change.
Whether you’re facing challenges in communication, trust, or intimacy—or simply wish to deepen your bond—BP4C offers an integrative path toward transformation and renewal.
Body psychotherapy is a mental-bodily-energetic therapy method. The relationship to the couple and the family is holistic and looks at the different layers of us: patterns of thought and behavior, bodily structure and body image, breathing pattern, movement and posture, bodily and emotional expression, couple and family resonance, body-mind relationships, psychosomatic problems, intimacy, sexuality, belief system, personal and couples potential and more.
Each session from the 12 classes will be with a major issue from the relationship world, and we will learn, explore and practise this topic in depth.
Each session is taught and practiced individually, in pairs, and in group. The course draws on unique ways of working with couples from the world of body psychotherapy – through therapeutic discourse, movement, mind and body awareness, sculpting from the world of Virginia Satir, modeling, geshtalt and more. Through a process of personal learning and development, we will observe and explore different situations in couples and family therapy. Over the process of learning, we will broaden our therapeutic capacities – from working with individuals, to working with couples – presenting case studies from therapy and using discussions and training. Once the course ends, we will progress to a group support and supervision structure and training.
During the BP4C training course, we will have six supervision sessions, each lasting three hours. In each session, we will explore two to three clinical cases in depth. Supervision is a vital stage in becoming a skilled couple therapist. It offers a safe and reflective space where therapists can deepen their clinical understanding and refine their therapeutic presence. Through these sessions, we will not only analyze complex dynamics between partners but also explore the therapist’s own somatic and emotional responses. This process strengthens therapeutic intuition and helps integrate the body-mind approach into real-life couple work. Supervision in the BP4C model is not just about technique—it’s a journey of growth, insight, and embodiment.
This course is designed for psychotherapists with expertise in various fields, interested in working with couples, and going deeper into the theme of the couple relationship in the therapy room. using therapeutic tools from the world of Body-Psychotherapy, such as mindfulness techniques, communication methods, movement, touch, and breathing
It is a CPD course – Continuing Professional Development. Course graduates will receive a Diploma and CPD certification.
The learning process will provide the individual therapist with tools for working with couples, together with personal empowerment and broadening the therapeutic capacity. On our journey of experiential and theoretical learning, we will learn about the complexity of couples therapy, which requires us to contain “the four entities” present in the therapy room: each of the two partners, their relationship, and the therapist, as well as the relational ties between them all.

Individual and couples therapist
Gabriel Shiraz and I are both colleague and trained Biodynamic Body Psychotherapists. Over many years I have, through my private practice and as a trainer, been working with couples and family issues and was looking for a training in Couple Therapy from a Body Psychotherapy perspective. that’s exactly what Gabriel’s Couple Therapy course offers!
I found his course inspiring and filled with practical techniques which are supported by his
extensive theoretical knowledge and many years of experience.
I highly recommend Gabriel’s course for the therapists who want to enrich their knowledge base and add more variety to their private practice.

My experience in the couples therapy course in body psychotherapy with Gabriel was amazing.
I came to the course because I took care of children, and parent trainings, and I felt that I was missing something in working with parents, in their dynamics.
Today I have been treating couples since I graduated, and with great success.
The women who took the course together with me were also wonderful, and we are in a good relationship to this day. I highly recommend it.

I first met Gabriel Shiraz in his Couple Therapy Course for Body Psychotherapists. Two things immediately attracted me and reinforced my decision to take his course. One was his unusual personal attention , intelligence and friendliness. He was very interested in my development and work. His level of encouragement which touched on the academic, psychological and personal was unsurpassed in my experience. In fact, I enjoyed so much
the exchanges and the environment that I participated in his course in both English & Hebrew. I enjoyed his guidance that he gave on Zoom during the height of Covid and in person. The second point that becomes quickly apparent in his course is his philosophy of Therapy which both enabled and encouraged me to use my existing knowledge and experiences and apply them to Couple Therapy. Because of this I was able to add ‘Couples’ to my Therapy portfolio. Gabriel was a steady hand in terms of guiding me and was / is available for supervision at every turn.
