The Eyes
Seeing & Being Seen

Communication begins
long before words
In these two experiential and professional workshops, we will explore two of the most powerful channels of human and relational communication: the eyes and the ears — seeing and listening.
How do we look at the person we love? What happens when we avoid their gaze? What do our eyes communicate when words are no longer enough?
And how do we listen? Do we truly hear our partner, or do we hear through our own expectations, wounds, defenses, and personal history?
Through the approach of BP4C – Body Psychotherapy for Couples, we will explore how seeing, being seen, listening, and being heard are deeply connected to intimacy, conflict, vulnerability, trust, and emotional connection.
A central part of both days will be experiential practice, with many practical somatic exercises that therapists can integrate directly into their work with couples and individuals.
Day One - 29.10.2026
Seeing & Being Seen
Through specific couples therapy exercises, we will explore how partners communicate through their eyes, what happens when eye contact becomes difficult, and how the gaze can reveal unspoken relational patterns.
We will learn interventions that use the eyes to deepen presence, soften defensive patterns, explore intimacy, and create new possibilities for connection between partners.
Day Two - 08.11.2026
Listening, Hearing & Being Heard
We will explore listening as a somatic and relational experience, rather than simply a communication skill.
Through specific couples therapy exercises, we will experience different forms of listening: listening without responding, listening through the body, listening to the emotion beneath the words, listening to silence, and allowing a partner to experience being genuinely heard.
We will explore what prevents partners from hearing each other and how repetitive patterns of interpretation, defense, and emotional history shape what each person is able to receive.
The workshop will provide therapists with creative and practical interventions for transforming communication from automatic reaction into presence, curiosity, empathy, and connection.
Who Is This Workshop For?
